One of the most crucial things to making great solvent-free products is having quality materials.

When we say quality materials we mean both the flower that goes into the wash, along with the physical items you’re using to wash it. We’ve already gone over how important it is to use high-quality flower that exemplifies ideal trichome structure for washing. But we haven’t highlighted the importance of using top quality equipment like bags, screens, parchment paper, and other items used in the process. What you see in this video is bubble wash bags, which are sets of filter screens used to separate and collect trichome heads from the flower material during the ice water extraction process. These bags are differentiated by micron filter size, with larger microns letting more material pass through and the smaller microns allowing less. Most bubble wash bags are sold in sets of 4 or 8, with microns ranging from 25 to 220. We recommend that at at least one of the bags should filter at the 45,73 or 90 micron size. This is because filters in this range are commonly collecting the best of the best quality h*sh. Another important thing when looking for bubble wash bags is making sure they’re made with strong, tear resistant material. You want to ensure that your bags won’t readily break down during the process, leading to synthetic fibers in your h*sh. Just because a bag is durable doesn’t necessarily mean that it has to come at the expense of excess weight. Some of the best bags to work with are not too bulky so you can maneuver around easily during the process.

Other qualities we recommend you keep in mind when shopping for great bubble bags?
-Grommets for hanging
-Easy to clean bags
-Quick to dry
-High quality stitching
-Quick draining

To all you vape gods out there this post is for you. Ever wonder how all the glorious looking r***n we make ends up in a cartridge? We’re here to fill you in a little about the process.

Vape cartridges are known to be one of the easiest ways to enjoy a high. So, it’s no surprise that solventless lovers also want the convenience of discretion and portability sometimes. To vaporize r***n from a cartridge, we need to make the r***n runny and less viscous than the commonly enjoyed badder, jam, or sappy consistencies. There are multiple ways to accomplish this transformation, so when you get a cart from one solventless brand it might not have been made the same way as another brand’s. We do not cut our cartridges with artificial terpenes or wax liquidizers.

One of the most important things when we have our glass jars in our vacuum sealed oven is making sure the material doesn’t crystallize. This will clog the vape, so ensuring we do a full decarb and liquification is important. On that note, we will leave you with one very important consumer tip:
R***n Carts tend to be a little more delicate than distillate pens by nature. So we recommend taking care to not leave them in cold cars for long. Warm environments seem to be less of a threat to the crystallization of the pen.

It’s Slazerbeam Saturday’s from now @coloradoseedinc

This amazing strain was bred by our in-house genetics team over @coloradoseedinc and has proven time and time again to be a great one to wash. A child of Super Lemon Haze and Gupta Kush, it hits the perfect level between Gupta Kush’s euphoria and Super Lemon Haze’s exuberance, pinpointing a focused but chill middle ground ideal for daytime productivity. Her flower is incredibly gorgeous with a dense structure and a mint green tone that’s matched by trichomes of the same color. Flavors and aromas do differ a little bit here, as the room will fill with notes of earth, lemon (dominant terpene being Limonene), and sage after just a few puffs. Users can expect a mixture of citrus, tea, and a bit of spice to linger on their tongue. And the best part? You can grow her yourself with seeds from @coloradoseedinc , and if you do take washing/pressing route we’d love to see/hear about how it went!

Out of this run of Kush Mints, the 90u definitely won first prize 🥇

Recently we’ve been posting a lot about Kush Mints, so we figured we would devote this post to learning a little more about it! This hybrid was originally bred by the famous Seed Junky Genetics from crossing the clone-only Animal Mints with Bubba Kush pollen. The dominant terpenes usually found in it are Limonene, Caryophyllene, Myrcene, and sometimes Linalool. Her nugs are fluffy and deep green, featuring a thick layer of frosty white trichomes. As if her name didn’t already give it away, this bud is rich in crisp mint flavor and aroma. Between its ability to be used as a pillow mint and its mellow, relaxing effects many like to save it as a dessert strain. Be ready for a big dessert though, as it should be mentioned that a large number of users day that Kush Mints has given them quite the case of munchies, so stock up on snacks accordingly (we recommend trying it with strawberries)!
For now, we can say we’re a big fan of it.

Things You Might Not Know About Solventless: The difference between r*sin and bubble h*sh (sometimes referred to as water h*sh)? This step right here, THE PRESS.

Produced the same way initially; using ice, water, and agitation to gently remove the trichomes from the fresh frozen plant, the key difference is we press r*sin with a plate at the end of this cycle. We do this by putting the resulting bubble h*sh from the wash into 25u and 160u bags you see here (made by @thepressclub.co ) and then apply heat and pressure to create r*sin. The picture of the wax paper shows that the press was done almost perfectly, without any pops or bursts, and that the maximum amount of the desired material was squished out during the pressing process.

You might be wondering, why haven’t you seen our lovely bubble h*sh on shelves? It’s because right now we aren’t adding it to our line of skus. Traditionally, live bubble h*sh is not shelf stable, which can lead to a variety of issues when trying to get it in pristine condition to customers. It is sensitive to light, temperature, air, and humidity, so when best storage practices aren’t followed (which can happen during transport, when dispos don’t have refrigerators etc…) the quality drastically degrades. For now we’re sticking with our line of fresh press and cold cure r*sin, but in the future as the industry progresses and consumers become more educated, we’ll have our bubble h*sh ready 😎
